And every time, it felt like gambling.

a verified agro exporter who was actually serious and not trying to scam you on WhatsApp 💥 Then I lost $12,000 to a fake exporter The company looked legit:
A professional website Beautiful product descriptions Ukrainian origin Active WhatsApp and email support I sent a request. A manager replied quickly. Spoke fluent English. Told me they couldn’t do LC because of “war complications” — and banks didn’t support it.
Instead, they insisted on TT 30/70. They even offered a 110% payment insurance.
And yes, I fell for it.
We signed the contract. I sent $12,000 prepayment.
Then the classic story began:
Delays at the border Customs issues Logistics excuses Ghosting Then: blocked No goods. No refund. No reply.
🕵️♀️ We went to the police — and discovered the truth We weren’t the first. This “company” had been scamming buyers around the world for years — changing names, emails, phone numbers.
Same scam. Different victims.
The investigation is ongoing, and I hope they’ll get what they deserve.
🤯 But here’s what really hit me Not just the money.
The real pain was realizing that:
❌ A clean website means nothing ❌ A professional manager means nothing ❌ A PDF contract means nothing ❌ Even an “export license” means nothing
If there’s no real verification, you are not protected.
🔎 We tried using existing B2B platforms… and got even more frustrated Before building anything, we tried to find a better solution.
We tested the most popular B2B platforms — and it got worse:
